Laclede County Recorder
The Office of Recorder of Deeds serves an essential role in government. It maintains and preserves some of our community’s most important records; these records are highly important to individuals and businesses. The Recorder of Deeds records and files documents of writing affecting real property or personal property, subdivision plats, federal and state tax liens, and other instruments of writing. The Recorder’s Office also issues marriage licenses.
We are responsible for recording, indexing, and imaging these documents into permanent records, all while being governed by Missouri State Statutes.
Missouri State Statutes specifically prohibit the Recorder of Deeds or the staff from practicing law. We do not supply legal forms, or provide instructions on drafting or completing forms, or answer questions regarding the legal consequences of documents filed. We advise you to consult an attorney for any legal questions you may have.
The Laclede County Recorder’s office is also a Passport Acceptance Facility. We accept passports Monday-Friday 8AM-3:30PM.
